Spanish Peaks International Celtic Music Festival

Every September Huerfano County is the home for the Spanish Peaks International Celtic Music Festival. The Festival, now in its 16th year, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and is a five-day event, including the work that we do in the County schools, This year the official Festival takes place from September 17-20.

The festival remains a favorite destination for world-class artists throughout the Celtic world. Certainly the beauty and unique charm of the County is one reason why, but so too is the unique format of the Festival. Emphasis is placed on both "entertainment" and "education". Major concerts take place on each of the four days, as well as numerous workshops, demo-performances, and free events. Not to be missed are the late-night open sessions in local venues.

More information can be found at, including a link to receive payments by credit card, cash, and check. Volunteers are the foundation that makes the Festival happen, and in return volunteers have a priceless opportunity to interact closely with Festival artists, and have access to various events. Please contact us if you are interested. Contact with the Festival can be made at, and through the Festival phone at 719-742-3722.
